Question: Dry plate photography?
Can anyone tell me why this type of photography would be good for action shots?

Best answer:
Answer by monophoto
Dry plate photography was the second step in the evolution of conventional silver-based photography.

The first step was wet-plate photography. In wet-plate photography, a plate of glass was sensitized with a silver nitrate compound, exposed to the scene, and processed before it could fully dry. As a result, the process of wet-plate photography was only suitable for subjects that were stationary such that the camera could be set up in advance of sensitizing the plate.

The innovation in dry plate photography was that the emulsion was applied to the plate in the factory, and could be exposed at just about any time thereafter. Therefore, it was possible to set up the camera and then wait for the subject to present itself for exposure. Obviously, this was more conducive to situations where the scene was changing (ie, action).

Both wet-plate and dry-plate photography involved emulsions applied to sheets of glass. The next step in the process was to apply those emulsions to a flexible substrate. That was the beginning of film.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
To delete ONLY the photos/attachments in an email you must be in the
FORWARD/REPLY mode. While there there is a REMOVE or REMOVE
ALL above the PHOTOS/ATTACHMENTS. If you want to remove some
of them just hover your pointer over each photo/attachment and an "X" will
display in the upper, right corner. Clicking on that will delete that photo/attachment.
This will not delete your photo's in your photo folder....this will only stop a duplicate
set in your photo folder when the email is sent.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
ATTACHMENTS...
When you click on ATTACHMENTS ...lower left below APPLICATIONS
(click on APPLICATIONS if you do not see anything) and this will display
what attachments are in your system....when you place a check mark in the
box to the left of the attachment the TRASH can icon will appear above your
list of attachments...clicking on the trash can will delete them.

Question: facebook-tag photo?
how do you 'tag' a photo on facebook..?
i know how to write the names..but how to i add a photo to someone elses page..?

Best answer:
Answer by <3 data-blogger-escaped-cowgirl="" data-blogger-escaped-i="">
If it's under your photo album, you go to "Edit photos",
and just click on the person's face. A box should come up, where you just type the persons name.
If it's someone else's picture, there should be an option to "Tag Photo", under the bottom right of the picture. And then it's the same as above!

Question: On facebook...changing photos?
On my facebook timeline where the photos are ( in block next to friends) it shows a picture & states there is 4 photos. Why does it only say 4 when I have right many more than that. I want to change & have all my photos showing like other people do. I have selected the photo block & tried to change but it's not working. What do I need to do ?

Best answer:
Answer by Regan
The photo show may be the last photo you were tagged in. Also the amount shown is the number of pictures you have been tagged in. You can change the photo if you want by tagging yourself in another photo or untagging the photo that is in your display.

Question: the year of begining of photography?
photography, all about

Chemical photography

For centuries images have been projected onto surfaces. The camera obscura and the camera lucida were used by artists to trace scenes as early as the 16th century. These early cameras did not fix an image in time; they only projected what passed through an opening in the wall of a darkened room onto a surface. In effect, the entire room was turned into a large pinhole camera. Indeed, the phrase camera obscura literally means "darkened room," and it is after these darkened rooms that all modern cameras have been named.

The first photograph is considered to be an image produced in 1826 by the French inventor Nicéphore Niépce on a polished pewter plate covered with a petroleum derivative called bitumen of Judea. It was produced with a camera, and required an eight hour exposure in bright sunshine. However this process turned out to be a dead end and Niépce began experimenting with silver compounds based on a Johann Heinrich Schultz discovery in 1724 that a silver and chalk mixture darkens when exposed to light.

Niépce, in Chalon-sur-Saône, and the artist Louis Daguerre, in Paris, refined the existing silver process in a partnership. In 1833 Niépce died of a stroke, leaving his notes to Daguerre. While he had no scientific background, Daguerre made two pivotal contributions to the process. He discovered that by exposing the silver first to iodine vapour, before exposure to light, and then to mercury fumes after the photograph was taken, a latent image could be formed and made visible. By then bathing the plate in a salt bath the image could be fixed. In 1839 Daguerre announced that he had invented a process using silver on a copper plate called the Daguerreotype. A similar process is still used today for Polaroids. The French government bought the patent and immediately made it public domain.

Across the English Channel, William Fox Talbot had earlier discovered another means to fix a silver process image but had kept it secret. After reading about Daguerre's invention Talbot refined his process, so that it might be fast enough to take photographs of people as Daguerre had done and by 1840 he had invented the calotype process. He coated paper sheets with silver chloride to create an intermediate negative image. Unlike a daguerreotype a calotype negative could be used to reproduce positive prints, like most chemical films do today. Talbot patented this process which greatly limited its adoption. He spent the rest of his life in lawsuits defending the patent until he gave up on photography altogether. But later this process was refined by George Eastman and is today the basic technology used by chemical film cameras. Hippolyte Bayard also developed a method of photography but delayed announcing it, and so was not recognized as its inventor.

Question: What exactly is TRAVEL photography?
What exactly do you take pictures of?
If you take photos of people in another country, it isn't really travel photography, right?

Best answer:
Answer by Tris
Travel photography is a subcategory of photography involving the documentation of an area's landscape, people, cultures, customs and history. The Photographic Society of America defines a travel photo as an image that expresses the feeling of a time and place, portrays a land, its people, or a culture in its natural state, and has no geographical limitations.
Travel photography can either be created by professionals or amateurs. Examples of professional travel photography can be found in the National Geographic magazine. Amateur travel photography is often shared online through photo sharing websites like Flickr or niche travel photography websites such as TrekEarth.
